I have studied and gained many hours of counselling experience in a wide range of different counselling therapies.
My counselling education has primarily been with Veronica Schrembri, a fantastic teacher who has a background as a mental health practitioner, and is now a counsellor, supervisor and teacher in North Wales.
My first qualification was a Certificate in the Theory and Skills of Counselling, obtained through CSCT at the Hurst Centre in Baughurst, Berkshire.
My Person Centred Advanced Diploma was taught by Veronica and Moderated by Queen Mary's College and CTI. This diploma took two years to complete; it included 40 hours of personal therapy, and over 100 hours of fully supervised voluntary counselling experience at The Cotswold Counselling Service, Cirencester.
After completing my Diploma I felt the need to widen my knowledge of different types of counselling so I completed a Diploma in Integrative Supervision.
In 2003 I obtained a City & Guilds Certificate in Teaching Adult Learners, from Henley College.
I am now the Course Leader for the Willows Certificate Course.
In 2004 I also obtained a Life Coaching Certificate from Newcastle College.
I am committed to an ongoing process of personal and professional development, and I regularly attend workshops and seminars that interest me, so that I can continue to update and enhance my skills.
I am now in my sixties and have been through many varied life experiences, which have shaped me into the person that I am today.
In my youth I was an Air Stewardess with an International Charter Airline, flying all over the world.
My experience includes 12 years as a Human Resources Manager in an International Telecommunications Company.
My life experiences - both within and outside work - have exposed me to a wide range of people, problems, issues and feelings.
